Spotland was THE place to do your media audio for decades when I moved in there and I'll always be grateful to the late Gene Clark for taking me in. It's still rolling with Ben Holland, who was engineering there when I arrived, and got really excited about digital editing instead of razor blades and bouncing between tape recorders!

Still, I have to say I really learned a lot from those guys and Thom Ferrel and we really hit the ground running by winning a slew of awards in the first couple years including Best of Show at the local Addys, The One Show, my first of 4 Emmys, and more. That got Adweek's attention and led to me being named one of their Southeast Creative Allstars. I should thank the late and great Audi Ashworth for introducing me to Gene.

I've been honored to work with a number of great music artists over the years. My first trip to Jolly old England was with Don Everly and those Everly Brothers tunes really sounded awesome when he sang them and played the guitar part he played on the hit record, standing right by me. He's great voice was matched by his kindness

I got to play with Doctor Hook a couple years after that. Dennis Locorrier, the lead singer has to be one of the most entertaining people on earth to be on the road with, besides being and incredible singer and musician. He would buy tons of recordings everywhere we went and play the best new material on our bus rides while performing an amazing array of voices and dialects narrating our travels or reverting to ongoing humor and discussing wacky anecdotes of the bands' nefarious past.

I also got to perform with Billy Crystal a few times in his early days in an Atlanta club called the Great Southeast Music Hall where I engineered for many stars and jammed with a piano idol of mine Nicky Hopkins. I've recorded "diversely" with Frankie Lane and Tiny Tim too and done sessions with many musicians I admire like Dee Murry & Davey Johnstone (Elton John), Tony Newman (Jeff Beck + Bowie), Pig Robbins (Country piano recording superstar), Session Ace Reggie Young, Joe Osborne (the Wrecking Crew) and many more virtuosos here in Music City.

In my multi-media work I've sound designed for Donna Summer, Brad Paisley, Morgan Freeman, Chet Atkins, Tyra Banks, Reba and Garth, pictured at the right with Vince Baranco. I wish you could see Garth was wearing shorts and knee high mud wading boots to this session!

I've also gotten to sound design for award winning videos and other projects for Travis Tritt featuring George Jones, Cathy Mattea, K.T. Oslin, George Strait and gigged with Lynn Anderson, John Prine, Pam Tillis, The Diamonds, Bill Medley, Lee Greenwood, and Sylvia.

I'm honored to have had this tune recorded by Gospel Legend Shirley Caesar.
